Newcastle College Raffle For Ben
A huge thank you to the students and staff in the Automotive Division of Newcastle College. On Friday 22nd May they celebrated their achievements at an awards ceremony attended by college staff and students, as well as proud parents and industry partners sponsoring the prizes.
BEN Partnership Development Manager, Jo Jones, attended the ceremony and was invited to speak about the support that the charity provides for those working within the automotive industry. She also thanked the Vehicle Accident Repair students who have been involved in the bodywork restoration of a Rover100 which will be auctioned to raise funds for BEN towards the end of the Summer.
Presenting the students with a certificate of thanks she said: “Not only have the students had the experience to develop their skills in the workshop through this project, they have had the opportunity to learn about their industry charity and be part of something that has a positive impact on the lives of automotive people. They can be very proud of what they have achieved and the way in which they have embraced this challenge.”
The students offered up a prize of a car valet to raffle which raised a fabulous £108 on the day. Well done Newcastle College and thanks to Rod Reed and his team for co-ordinating on BEN’s behalf.
