BookMyGarage’s Ollie Sanderson cycles from Land’s End to John O’Groats for Ben

- Ollie cycled more than 1,000 miles over two weeks as part of the challenge
- The charity bike ride raised just under £2,500 for the automotive charity
Ollie Sanderson, BookMyGarage Sales Success Operations Manager, raised just under £2,500 for automotive charity Ben with a mammoth two-week bike ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats.
BookMyGarage, The UK’s leading comparison site for MOTs, servicing and repairs followed Ollie’s epic challenge, which began on 28 June 2026 and finished on 14 July 2026, posting regular updates on social media channels.
The 1,807.3 km or 1,123 miles saw Ollie take in towns and villages up and down the country where he was greeted by garage owners, Engineius CEO Phill Jones, who joined him from Gloucester to Worcester and the aftersales team at Baylis Worcester who provided support, encouragement and an unexpected red carpet welcome.
Ollie took on the mammoth bike ride as a ‘thank you’ to the sector that has given him his career.
He said: “Like many people in this industry, I’ve benefited from the hard work, opportunities, and support it offers. But I also know that behind the scenes, not everyone in our industry is doing okay.
“Life can change quickly. Ill health, mental health struggles, financial pressure, or personal crises can hit anyone — often when they least expect it. Ben exists to support automotive people and their families during those hardest moments, providing vital help when it’s needed most. It felt like the right time for me to give something back.”
Whilst the challenge was extremely tough, Ollie also enjoyed several highs, his highlight being the Highlands where he spotted snakes, red squirrels, deer, lizards and birds of prey along the way. Through every type of weather the UK could throw at him, Ollie inched his way from the bottom of the country to the very top. It's reminded him just how stunning and varied this country is, from the rolling hills of the South West to the mountains of the Cairngorms.
