A wave of companies in the US have decided to roll back their ED&I policies in the past month, ahead of the inauguration of Donald Trump.

Workplace conflict is increasing. A report by the CIPD discovered that 25 per cent of UK employees, an estimated eight million people, have encountered workplace conflict in the last year.

Despite the cultural shifts sparked by #MeToo, the reality is that, statistically, workplace sexual harassment remains largely unchanged.

Many people struggle to cope at some point in their lives. Suicide can be a difficult subject to talk about and people can find it challenging to open up about how they are feeling.

Employees who are dealing with burnout will struggle to be productive and you may even start to notice issues such as more sickness absence, errors being made, poor performance and a lack of engagement. 

If an employee has opened up to you about being burnt out, it’s important to be as supportive as possible as this will have a significant impact on their recovery.

Most of us won’t ever be able to fully remove stress from our lives, it seems to be part and parcel of being human. However, it’s the level of stress we experience and how we deal with it that means the difference between coping or it turning into a bigger issue.
