Ben’s coaches have been hearing “it’s that time of year” in their coaching sessions as the festive season and colder months approach.
Whatever ‘that time of year’ means to you, it can be a great season if we feel well-resourced and resilient, making sure we’re looking after ourselves while we look after others.
Before we motor through the unpredictable winter months, we prepare our cars by checking oil levels, tyre pressures and putting antifreeze in our engines, an ice-scraper in our glove box and a blanket on our backseats. So why not apply the same care to ourselves?
If we proactively look after our health and wellbeing, we’ll be prepared for anything and are better able to cope if things don’t turn out how we hoped. The first step we can take is understanding our strengths and values to build resourcefulness, resilience and set achievable goals.
After all, we invest in our cars with regular checks, services and MOTs to reduce our chance of needing roadside assistance, so let’s do the same for our own wellbeing. Don’t wait until the New Year, look after your wellbeing this winter by taking the following steps:
-
Identify your strengths
Take this survey to identify your strengths and values: https://www.viacharacter.org/.
After you’ve taken the survey, why not work with one of our Life Coaches to put some plans in place to take care of your wellbeing… -
