Getontrack With Ben At The Avon Tyres British Gt Championship
Crowds at the hugely popular Avon Tyres British GT Championship, which took place at Rockingham this weekend, saw the launch of the inaugural ‘Get On Track’ campaign; a new collaboration between BEN, Team GPRM and British GT.
This weekend’s round saw Team GPRM unveil the TOYOTA GT86 GT4 racer with its new BEN livery, that has been specifically designed for the car. Driven by Richard Williams and Stephan Hodgetts, this is the first time a car has entered the Avon Tyres British GT Championship under BEN’s colours and it presents a huge opportunity to increase awareness.
“It’s a great privilege and honour to be involved with BEN,” said Richard Williams. “The racing industry has a strong affiliation with this fantastic charity and it seemed a natural choice to raise much-needed awareness and funds for such a great cause.
“The opportunity to race GPRM’s Toyota GT86 GT4 came about so last-minute I thought it was an April Fools joke, but after six years out of racing it seemed like an ideal way to return, so I’ve dusted off the racing boots and am back in action! The car looks fantastic fully wrapped in BEN’s colours and offers a great platform to promote this amazing opportunity to Get On Track. I’m excited to be part of this fundraising initiative and look forward to making some noise on social media with #getontrack.”
BEN’s Head of Business Innovation, Nigel Williams, added: “I’ve been overwhelmed by the help and support shown by Richard and everyone involved with this brand new campaign. This is a superb opportunity for British motorsport to work with the industry’s charity in helping to create awareness whilst providing much-needed support to fellow colleagues.”
