Cambria Automobiles Reach New Heights For Ben
Early this year, Mika Berry, an associate of Cambria Automobiles, took on a challenge to climb Kilimanjaro and raised vital funds for BEN – an incredible £2,310.
Mika didn’t know what to expect from the challenge only that it would be hard, as Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain in the world at 5,895 metres. Not only did she battle through altitude sickness, she walked for about 10 hours a day with little sleep and constantly feeling breathless.
In her own words, Mika said: “I always love a challenge but even by my standards this one was a little crazy but I knew I wanted to raise money for the automotive industry, BEN. Out of the whole experience, Summit Night was the hardest thing I have ever experienced in my life and it really made me appreciate what I can do when I have to. I would like to thank everybody for all their support and donations to BEN. Knowing that I’m helping people who are facing life challenges is a great feeling and makes it all worthwhile.”
Congratulating on her achievement, BEN’s Events Executive Bekki Chandler said: “What an amazing accomplishment! Hearing Mika’s success story and the difficulties she overcome to reach the Summit plus raise money for our charity makes me very proud of her.”
