Ben Executive Management Team Bolstered With Three New Recruits
BEN has strengthened its executive management team with the recruitment of three new people to the positions of business development director, head of welfare and care director, in line with the outcomes of the recent strategic review of our services.
Jools Tait joined BEN as Business Development Director in December 2014 and brings over 18 years’ experience of working in the charity sector, most recently as Corporate Fundraising Director for Cancer Research UK. She started her fundraising career in the USA and since then has held a variety of senior roles across a wide portfolio of established and innovative fundraising streams. Jools will support BEN to further build its established partnerships and develop new associations with the automotive industry to ensure it can help more people from the sector through its welfare services and residential care centres.
The Head of Welfare position has been filled by Yvonne Hignell, who also joined the charity in December. Bringing experience from her most recent position as the founding director of a charity and social enterprise delivering direct support to people who live with learning disability and their families, Yvonne is ideally placed to lead the transformation of the Welfare Services, developing innovative and relevant services to meet the needs of our industry colleagues. Yvonne has over 16 years’ experience in the health, social and community care sectors.
The most recent addition to BEN’s executive management team is Angi Knight, Care Director, who joined BEN in January of this year. Angi started her career in the NHS where she spent 14 years as a nurse and senior manager and has spent the last 20 years in the independent care sector, overseeing services for adults with a diverse range of needs. Angi will be responsible for delivering high-quality personalised services to those who use BEN’s care centres and day services and is looking forward to the challenge of supporting more people from the industry to access residential and other care services.
BEN’s Chief Operating Officer Nigel Rothband said: “In the last year, there has been a huge increase in the number of people seeking support and advice from BEN and it is absolutely vital that we have the right people in place, at all levels of the organisation, to ensure we can give these people the help they need and deserve.
“Our three new recruits bring with them a wealth of experience from their respective fields and we’re excited to see how this will support and build on our strategy as we move forward with a number of major projects in the coming months.”
