Are you feeling stressed, overwhelmed or disorganised? Are your thoughts in a muddle? Or maybe you’re struggling to find balance between work and home life? You’re not alone.
Our team of Life Coaches are supporting a growing number of people who are feeling stressed, juggling different demands at work and at home, unsure where to start or how to move forward. Many people are trying to do all of this while also attempting to carve out time for rest, wellbeing and personal goals.
Stress is useful information. It often signals that something is not aligning in terms of our values, unrealistic expectations or inner conflict. It’s important to pause and ask: “What is this stress trying to tell me?”.
- Is it highlighting a boundary that needs to be set?
- Is it pointing to a priority that needs adjustment?
- Is it signaling a need for a difficult but necessary conversation?
By listening to the signal, we can address the root cause and make positive changes in our lives.
Here are some areas that are causing stress for people in our industry today…
-
Thoughts becoming muddled
Our Life Coaches are seeing more cases of ‘paralysis by analysis’. Clients often come to Ben with conflicting perspectives on a single issue, or conflicting priorities. They recognise there are many ways to move forward, but they aren’t able to choose how best to do that and are then trapped by an internal ‘noise’ that drowns out their own intuition. Tension and stress is then caused by trying to meet needs that pull in opposite directions - for example, wanting to progress in your career, but also wanting to be more present at home with family. -
Feeling disorganised
Many people feel disorganised in their approach to setting and achieving goals and are then unsure about how to move forward. -
Worry about communicating needs
Some people worry that communicating their needs might damage their relationships. As a result, pressure builds internally and the natural instinct is often to push harder, avoid the feeling entirely, or let the inner critic take the wheel with questions like, “Why can’t you handle this when everyone else can?”.
The role of Life Coaching in reducing stress
Life Coaching offers an intervention. It provides a dedicated, confidential space to offload stresses, worries and swirling thoughts. By helping clients identify patterns and bring structure to the chaos, our Life Coaches help people move from reaction to planning and organisation.
Life Coaching first helps individuals to better understand themselves, their values, motivations and fears. This awareness can often be the start of problem-solving an issue you’re struggling with. When the noise settles, clients can finally hear their own intuition and make decisions with confidence.
Life Coaching helps people navigate the tension and stress in their lives, guiding them towards a life that feels aligned, intentional and manageable. If you’re ready to turn muddled thoughts and stress into clear action, our team is here to support you. Visit www.ben.org.uk/coaching today.
