Become a volunteer
Volunteer for Ben and you could make a real difference.
When people are going through challenging times we’re there to help them make lasting, positive change. Our volunteers play a vital role helping us to deliver support, fundraise and in the day to day running of the charity. We recruit volunteers to work across a wide range of roles so, whatever your skills and experience, if you are reliable, trustworthy and enthusiastic there’s a way you can help.
From chatting to residents in one of our care centres to helping out at head office, being part of a team running a fundraising event or working directly with our clients, you’ll be part of a team that is passionate about making a positive difference to people’s lives.
Whether you’re looking to learn new skills, build a portfolio of experience or simply feel like doing something worthwhile, volunteering gives you a unique sense of satisfaction and achievement.
Who can volunteer?
The skills and qualifications needed vary widely depending on the role. Some require good communication skills and computer literacy, others simply ask for a kind and compassionate nature. You’ll need to be over the age of 18, have a current DBS certificate (if you don’t have one we can organise this for you) and be willing to commit to a regular amount of time each month.
Support services volunteer
You’ll be working directly with our clients to help them get back on track. They may have experienced financial problems, ill health, mental health issues or simply feel alone with no-one to talk to. As a Support Services Volunteer you’ll be helping them access the support they need to get back on track. This role requires specific experience, good communication skills and computer literacy. In return you’ll receive training and support from our Client Services team.
